Dr. Karp received her audiology training at Vanderbilt University and the University of Florida, Gainesville. She has developed audiology departments in multi-specialty medical practices and ENT private practice in North Carolina. In 2008, she decided to follow her interest in pediatrics and focus specifically on diagnostic evaluations for children as part of the Mecklenburg County early intervention program. This switch allowed her to truly focus on clients and families and provide a better standard of care than the typical rushed medical model of treatment. In 2011, she founded Melissa Karp Wellness, P.C. as a way to offer increased services to area families.
